Mobile number (used as your account identifier)

Password (stored as an encrypted hash — never in plain text)
Profile photo (if you sign in with Google)

Subscription plan and payment history

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your Pathagar account
Provide access to books and audiobooks based on your subscription
Process subscription payments securely
Send important updates such as password reset emails
Improve our content library and app experience
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third-party marketers.

3. Third-Party Services

Pathagar integrates with the following third-party services to operate the app. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not receive your Google password. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to this data.

Cashfree Payments

All subscription payments are processed by Cashfree, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not store your card details or banking information on our servers. Cashfree’s Privacy Policy applies to payment data.

Hosting & Content Delivery

Book files (PDFs) and audiobooks are served from our secure hosting provider. Access to this content is gated behind your active subscription.

4. Data Sharing

Pathagar does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

With service providers who help us operate the app (e.g. payment processors, hosting services) — only to the extent necessary to provide their service
When required by law, court order, or governmental authority
To protect the rights, property, or safety of Pathagar, our users, or the public

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

Account data is retained until you request deletion of your account
Payment records and subscription history are retained for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes, even after account deletion

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

Passwords are stored as MD5 hashes — never in plain text
All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant processors
Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only

However, no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Pathagar account.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access & Update

You can view and update your name and email address at any time from Account → Edit Profile.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Account → Delete Account. This action is irreversible. Note that payment records may be retained for legal compliance as described in Section 5.

Password Reset

You can reset your password at any time using the “Forgot Password?” option on the login screen.

8. Children’s Privacy

Pathagar is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at pathagar2025@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

9. Changes to This Policy

Pathagar reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.

Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
